ADVOCATE
The Rutgers University Student Assembly is a representative body, elected by Rutgers students, that advocates on behalf of students at the university, state, and federal levels by actively engaging with administrators, stakeholders, and legislators to advance student interests.
Joined the Association of Big Ten Schools (ABTS), a coalition that serves to help advocate on behalf of 500,000+ BIG 10 students at the federal level.
Manage Meal Swipes for Charity, an initiative in collaboration with Rutgers Dining Services that aims to give our peers the opportunity to donate unused guest meal swipes at the end of every semester to benefit a charitable organization (selected by the Student Assembly).
Participate in Good Neighbor Welcome with RUPD, NBPD, Division of Student Affairs, and the Mayor’s office to welcome off-campus student residents and distribute safety information.
Welcome Students at New Student Orientation, Convocation, and Commencements.
ALLOCATE
The Rutgers University Student Assembly is responsible for the allocation of funds to registered Rutgers University Student Organizations as well as various registered events on an as-needed basis.
Fund 450+ Student Organizations, Sports Clubs, Special Events, Class Councils (Senior Days), RUPA, and Professional Governing Councils.
Hold regular Budget Help Nights and Treasurer Trainings to ensure RUSA Allocations guidelines are easy to understand and follow.
LEGISLATE
The Rutgers University Student Assembly legislates through bills and resolutions that enact meaningful projects and provide a forum for open student expression.
Holds weekly legislative sessions where any member of the Rutgers-New Brunswick undergraduate student body can present bills or resolutions to be passed by the Assembly.
Welcomes any member of the Rutgers or outside community to participate in meaningful discussions.
Key Accomplishments and Involvement

Directed the RUSA COVID Emergency Fund, collaborating with Deans of Students and student organizations to deliver vital financial support during COVID-19.
Spearheaded serious policy changes such as Medical Amnesty, Pass/No Fail classes, Drop Add Time Period Changes, Campus smoking policies, and Senate consideration of Election Day as a Holiday.
Partnered with the Rutgers Department of Government Relations in legislative advocacy and engagement with state legislators that resulted in the restoration of $60M in proposed state budget cuts.
