RUSA’s Work and Impact
Manage Meal Swipes for Charity, an initiative in collaboration with Rutgers Dining Services that aims to give our peers the opportunity to donate unused guest meal swipes at the end of every semester to benefit a charitable organization (selected by the Student Assembly).
Joined the Association of Big Ten Schools (ABTS), a coalition that serves to help advocate on behalf of 500,000+ BIG 10 students at the federal level.
Partnered with the Rutgers Department of Government Relations in legislative advocacy and engagement with state legislators that resulted in the restoration of $60M in proposed state budget cuts.
Directed the RUSA COVID Emergency Fund, collaborating with Deans of Students and student organizations to deliver vital financial support during COVID-19.
Spearheaded serious policy changes such as Medical Amnesty, Pass/No Fail classes, Drop Add Time Period Changes, Campus smoking policies, and Senate consideration of Election Day as a Holiday.
Participate in Good Neighbor Welcome with RUPD, NBPD, Division of Student Affairs, and the Mayor’s office to welcome off-campus student residents and distribute safety information.
Welcome Students at New Student Orientation, Convocation, and Commencements.
Funded 450+ Student Organizations, Sports Clubs, Special Events, Class Councils (Senior Days), RUPA, and Professional Governing Councils.
